Lois Svoboda has been a licensed physician for over 40 years and a marriage & family therapist for 25 years. Having received her medical training at the University of Chicago School of Medicine and her family therapy training at the Menninger Foundation in Topeka, Ks., she has broad experience with many kinds of problem besetting humans. She has worked in a family medicine clinic as a medical family therapist in Wichita, Ks, 20 years, dealing with a wide variety of human problems. These include working with adults, adolescents and children as young as 8 with depression, anxiety, trauma and its effects, relationship issues, marital and divorce issues, loss, sexual issues and spiritual issues. She also started a church counseling center there. Special interests include marital counseling, working with clergy, and people in Christian ministry, and working with people who have been impacted by high control groups known as cults. Lois’ membership history includes the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Family Practice, the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, the Christian Medical Society, the Cult Awareness Network, and the International Cultic Studies Association.
